Abstract
On behalf of the Polymer Scientific Advisory Board (Professors Knauss,
Liechti, Pavan, Pruitt and Williams) for ICF-11, we would like to invite
you to submit a paper for special sessions related to the fracture and
failure of Polymers. Special sessions will consist of five presentations
each 20 minutes long. If we assemble four or more special sessions, we
will have the opportunity to form a Mini-Symposium, which could then have
a special lecture (40 minutes) in addition to the sense of cohesiveness
and breadth provided by the Symposium format.
As you consider presenting a paper in the sessions related to Polymers,
please know that we will be considering papers on all aspects of polymer
fracture and failure. Topics will include but are not limited to: time
dependent fracture, dynamic fracture, interfacial fracture, nonlinear
effects, environmentally assisted crack growth, fatigue, structural polymers,
biological/biomedical polymers, adhesively bonded joints, polymer matrix
composites, self-assembled monolayers and rubbers. Papers dealing with
experimental, analytical and numerical aspects or combinations of these
are all encouraged.
If you wish to present a paper at ICF-11, you must submit a short abstract
(1 page) and an extended one (4-6 pages) by April 30, 2004. These should
be submitted through the official web site for the conference (http://www.icf11.com).
It will be helpful to us if you would also notify Professor Liechti (kml@mail.utexas.edu)
of your submission.
