Abstract
Papers must concern Fracture Mechanics problems faced by pipeline experts, that often widen the classical fracture mechanics approaches to reach engineering solutions, thus answering specific needs. Therefore, the typical topics of this special session concern:
• Pipeline integrity;
• Pipeline inspection and crack detection;
• Leak before break;
• Brittle fracture occurrence and/or stable ductile crack propagation;
• Crack arrest assessment;
• Welding and fracture of pipelines;
• Girth weld defect assessment;
• Stress corrosion assessment;
• Fatigue and fracture in pipelines;
• Fracture behaviour of pipeline steels.
