Abstract
Design of engineering components and structures needs understanding of the problem of the orientation of the defects relatively to the applied load. Under such circumstances the crack tip stress field is governed by a combination of the three stress intensity factors KI, KII, and KIII. The objective of this symposium is to foster the interaction of those working in university, industry and government in the area of mixed-mode crack growth and fatigue and to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas, networking and collaboration. The symposium focuses on: interfaces, delamination, impact and dynamic effects, high temperatures, numerical methods, hybrid methods, fatigue damage, concrete, rock, and quasi-brittle materials, and medical applications
