Abstract
This Speciall Session addresses materials (essentially metallic) damage and components failures in power generation industry (fossil, including industrial gas turbines, nuclear and from renewables) as well as in process plants (chemical and petrochemical). Failure mechanisms identification is considered, i.e. the traditional subject within the Failure Analysis field; moreover the recently grown areas of Fitness-For-Service and Risk Based Inspection, including maintenance and monitoring technologies to minimise occurrance of failures, are considered as well
