The Italian Group of Fracture is a cultural association
which involves experts from Industry, Research Centers and University.
The main goal of the Association is to promote and spread experiences
and studies regarding phenomena and problems related to damage and fracture
of structures and materials. The Association, legally constituted in 1982,
has a proper Statute, no-profit purposes and develops all the activities
for its own members.
The social positions are elective and for the present biennium 2000/2002
are the followings:

The activities essentially consist in organizing Conferences
and Seminars inherent to the main interests of the Association. Conferences
proceedings are usually printed and a bulletin of the association is yearly
draft.
The Association has organized the following International
Conferences in the last few years:
European Conference on Fracture (ECF-10), Torino, 1990;
Material Ageing and Components Life Extension, Milano, 1995;
Case Histories on Integrity and Failures in Industry, Milano, 1999;
11th International Conference of Fracture, Torino, 2005.
The Italian Group of Fracture is the Official National Representative
of ESIS (European Structural Integrity Society) and is associated to the
corresponding World Institution (International Conference on Fracture).
